Farm bureau foundation to offer scholarships – deadline March 2, 2023

The Will County Farm Bureau Foundation Board is pleased to announce that they now accepting applications for their 2023 scholarship program year. They are now offering fifty-two (52) $1,500.00 scholarships for the 2022-2023 fiscal year and two Ag Teacher Education Major College Senior Scholarships for $1500.00 each.

Twenty-six (26) of the $1,500.00 scholarships will be awarded to high school graduating seniors of Will County Farm Bureau members who will be entering college in the Fall of 2022 as a freshman and whose parent’s membership is in good standing as of January 1, 2023, meaning their membership is currently paid up to date. These scholarships are for any college or accredited school of higher learning or technology.

The high school scholarship winners (to be determined in April 2023) will not have the funds disbursed until December 1, 2023, to their colleges, and the scholarship funds will be applied towards their second and/or Spring semester in 2024 for tuition, room, and board or misc. college fees for their college freshman year only after verification of enrollment for the fall semester have been determined by the Foundation Board. All applications submitted must be typewritten or computer-typed on the original application form.

An additional twenty-six (26) of the $1,500.00 scholarships will be awarded to current college students and dependents under the age of 23 and/or current members (ages 23 and over) of Will County Farm Bureau members who will be college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students or students pursuing a 6-8 year degree such as doctors, lawyers, etc. in the fall of 2023 and are Will County Farm Bureau members in good standing as of January 1, 2023.

The funds for these particular scholarships will be awarded for the Fall semester of the school towards tuition, housing, and college fees and will be disbursed after August 15, 2023, to the college they are attending. There will be an additional two $1,500 scholarships for those only in the agriculture education field and who will be a senior in college in the fall of 2023.

If an applicant received a scholarship from the Will County Farm Bureau Foundation during the last year of 2021, they would not be eligible for a scholarship in 2023. 2023 scholarship rules and procedures will be made available with the application form, which will be online at our website www.willcfb.com. If applicants are not able to download the scholarship application from our website, please call the Will County Farm Bureau office at 815-727-4811, and one can be mailed out to you and/or emailed to you.

The deadline for the submission of all scholarship applications is March 2, 2023. They MUST BE postmarked no later than March 2, 2023, if mailing and/or dropped off at the office of the Will County Farm Bureau at 100 Manhattan Road, Joliet on or before March 2nd, 2022. It is mandatory that all applications are submitted with high school and/or college transcripts as well as be typewritten or computer printed as noted in the scholarship rules and procedures.
