Kelley, Brophy Benefit From Mail-in Count
Down by several hundred votes each on Election Night, mail-in ballots counted November 15 provided enough support for incumbents – Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley and County Treasurer Tim Brophy – to apparently retain their offices.
After the count, Kelley led Republican challenger Jim Reilly 114,450 to 112,306. Brophy led Republican challenger Raj Pillai 115,557 to 113,667.
On the Will County Board, incumbent Judy Ogalla, R-Monee, still held a margin of 158 votes over Democrat challenger Bob Howard of Beecher in District 1. As of now, the board has an 11-11 split beginning when the new members are seated in December.
All results become official following the canvass on November 29.
