Zonta 2025 International Women’s Day Panel March 8

The Zonta Club of the Joliet Area hosts their second annual International Women’s Day Panel from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 8, at the Joliet Township District 204 Administration Center, 300 Caterpillar Dr., Joliet.
This event is free and open to the public.
The theme of the panel is “Take Control of Your Health,” and will cover topics such as women’s wellness, perimenopause/menopause, aging, and mental health.
‘‘In order for individuals to function at their optimal level, quality healthcare is crucial,” said President Bonnie Winfrey, who is the panel moderator. “We, the Zonta Club of Joliet, are committed to helping our community achieve this goal.
March 8, 2025 is International Women’s Day, a global celebration honoring women. Locally, for the second year in a row, we are hosting a panel discussion featuring top experts. The focus this year is women taking control of their health.”
Our panel consists of Dr. Avida Bussell, Erin McElheny, DPT, Lynn Quaranta, PharmD, and Dr. Imran Shakir. The expertise of the panel includes obesity and wellness management, physical therapy, pharmacology, and psychiatry. The event will be live-streamed as well, to the Club’s Facebook page. Congresswoman Lauren Underwood is also an invited panelist.
These topics are of interest to women in all stages of life, as they concern every woman at some point. Taking control of one’s health encompasses not only the physical body, but the health of the mind, and also what we can do to maintain our well-being as we age. Either you are in that stage now, or you have a mom, aunt, or other female relative who needs to take advantage of the expertise of our panelists.
Media outlets are encouraged to come out and cover this important event.
