Blood Drive Set in Honor of International Women’s Day

State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is partnering with the American Red Cross and local legislators to host a blood drive in recognition of International Women’s Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the American Red Cross Training Room, 1293 Windham Parkway, Romeoville.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year.
The blood drive aims to address the ongoing need for blood donations and highlights the importance of women’s health. In addition to saving a life, donors will receive a $10 Amazon gift card and their blood screened for diabetes at no additional cost.
Rep. Manley is challenging the community to join the “30 Unit Challenge” and help reach the goal of donating 30 units of blood or more.
In addition to the Red Cross, Rep. Manley is also partnering with the offices of state Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel, D-Shorewood, Assistant Majority Leader Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Romeoville, and Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant to exceed the 30 Unit Challenge.
All members of the community are encouraged to schedule an appointment to donate blood. Please call/text Rep. Manley’s District Office at (815) 725-2741 to schedule your appointment today.
